I need your advice on a new interesting project I was recently thinking about.

I've been studying Automation and Management at Poznań University of Technology, and as my master thesis I've build a system for automatic tracking of moving objects (humans for example) on video image from surveillance camera. The system not only tracks position of objects, but also adjusts camera position to have the selected object in view all the time.

I would like to share my knowledge and experience in creating such systems (selection of hardware, programming) with people like you. In order to spread interest in such an exciting field as automation is, I'd like to write an ebook. I planned to describe the hardware that could be used and show how to write a controlling software using Open Source tools.
